Would you like to work with me? I believe in playful pedagogy and non-linear learning. I will tailor tutorials to your goals and needs, making sure you work toward your short and long-term achievements. Political Science can be rather overwhelming due to a lot of specific terminology and acronyms used, so my goal is to turn that into a form that is easier to understand and incorporate into your studies and life. In addition to completing an MA and a PhD, I am a trained tutor, and exam assessor for Cambridge International, and have a current enhanced DBS check.
At the moment, I offer two ways to work with me. First, you can book an online one on one consultation with me. I will help you at any stage of your work – to plan for an assignment, to work on an already existing piece of writing, to address your tutor or supervisor’s feedback, to analyse your data, and much more. After the consultation, you will have an actionable plan straight away.

I will provide written feedback on any assignment (essay, chapter, litrev, article, etc.) to help you make it better. Are you not receiving enough feedback from your tutor or supervisor? Or you got feedback but you are not sure how to address it? I will give you actionable feedback – on how to improve your argument, structure, references, and other aspects of writing. You will receive your document back with comments and suggestions in text and a short action plan with clear steps on how to improve it.

I have experience teaching IR to students at different levels: both first-year students (a requirement) and those interested in pursuing specific IR subjects (an elective on a Master level). I am happy to help you understand different theories and approaches of IR, plan assignments to make sure it is adequate to the task, or read your assignments and give feedback on your arguments. I can also help you to prepare for IR exams or work with you on your dissertation. Please feel free to reach out.
My main expertise is in the following fields:
International Relations (IR) and Political Science: Foreign Policy Analysis, Security Studies, Comparative Politics, Terrorism and Counterterrorism. I specialise in illiberal regimes, especially in Russia, Central Asia, and the post-Soviet space. I am also passionate about Women, Gender, and Politics (especially the underrepresentation of gender in security and power politics), and feminism and intersectionality in IR.
Bilingualism: I speak Russian and English fluently which allows me to access twice as many sources for my research. Bilingualism can be extremely beneficial for succeeding in education and research if used to your advantage. I would be happy to share my experience and tips on how to incorporate a different language into your research.
International Political Economy: my background in business and management allows me to analyse political events and strategies from different perspectives as politics and economics are tightly intertwined and influence each other in myriad ways.
Research methods: qualitative research, snowballing sampling, interviews, ethics applications for research in illiberal regimes, verbal consent, interview questions construction, filed work, incorporating bilingualism into writing and research.
Academic writing: creating an argument, supporting an argument, essay writing, editing for context, editing for scope, writing in political science, APA and Chicago referencing.
Feedback: you can book an offline consultation where you will give written feedback on your assignment. You will have questions and comments in the text to help you refine your arguments, as well as suggestions on wording and IR jargon. I will also write up a summary of actionable steps to take to improve your assignment.
